Welcome to the first edition of IUWIT Insights, where you’ll find insights about the latest and greatest events, interviews, and stories involving women in tech across IU’s 8 campuses and beyond. This newsletter is distributed by IU Women in Technology (IUWIT), the staff affiliate of the IU Center of Excellence for Women & Technology.

TOMORROW: Big Ten Academic Alliance WIT Conference

Leadership in a Culture of Constant Change is the theme of the second annual BTAA WIT virtual conference. Presentations from respected women in technology will explore how disruption can lead to opportunity, and how leadership superpowers are born. IUWIT and the IT Leadership Community will host watch parties on each IU campus, and the conference is free to all. RSVP and get more detailed information here.

Spotlight Interview: Julie Aders

In a recent interview with our IUWIT intern, Julie discusses her experiences being a woman in technology for over 15 years, the most interesting tech project she has worked on, and the interests she shares with her three daughters. You won’t want to miss this spotlight interview!

Will you Help us Help Students (And Get a Free Summit Registration)?

For the past few years, IUWIT has partnered with the IT Leadership Community to offer a Speed Networking Session at the annual Statewide IT Conference. This past October, we again helped Statewide attendees make the most of the conference through short rounds of introductions in small-group formats. This event is one of the more popular breakout sessions at Statewide.

Another opportunity for speed networking will be taking place during the Summit: Celebrating Women & Technology, and we need IU staff to help IU students build their networking skills. This event will be Friday, March 6 from 4:30 pm-5:45 pm in the Indiana Memorial Union. Those who sign up will receive free registration to the Summit!
