Outstanding Staff Mentor/Advocate Award

May 16, 4-6 pm in the IMU Solarium on the Bloomington campus.

Recipients of 2023 Outstanding Staff Mentor/Advocate Award will be celebrated in a reception on Tuesday, May 16, 4-6 pm in the IMU Solarium on the Bloomington campus. Please register to join the celebration! Recipients will be announced in advance, on May 1.

Professional Development Grants

IUWIT (IU Women in Information Technology) is excited to offer professional development grants for Spring 2023. Funding of up to $300 per applicant is available. Professional Development is broadly defined to include leadership training, onsite and virtual training, travel to participate in events/conferences, and purchasing books or other media. Have another idea? Make your case! Applications are open to people of any gender, from any IU campus.

Work Life Integration Workshop

Wednesday, May 10 • 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

It can be challenging to integrate work and your personal life. Maybe your kids throw a tantrum at daycare drop-off, or you don’t get enough exercise, or you skip self-care to complete projects. This workshop, led by Mamta Goyal, will help you reframe the situation and develop actionable approaches. About the presenter: Mamta Goyal has decades of experience leading technical teams especially in the software quality assurance arena and has worked in Lean Six Sigma and Agile environments. As a coach and consultant, she engages with her passion of helping IT professionals improve their work-life balance..

Caring for Older Loved Ones – Caregiver Burnout: Mental and Emotional Health Help

Wednesday, May 17 • 1:00 p.m.

Caregiver burnout is about mental and emotional health. This session focuses on solutions for both dealing with negative emotions and building resiliency, learning to let go of grief and guilt and establish boundaries that negatively impact health and wellness, understanding situational vs clinical depression. The session also includes a tool known as the Social Convoy model to create a care team for emotional support and getting a break.
